#92004, "Problem after replaced engine"

I got my car back from the shop, they put a whole new engine after it seized up. Everything is going good except my gas gauge doesnt seem to be working. I took it back to them and they took a look at it and said they think the sending unit was done. They also said that insurance wont cover it since no water could have got in there since it is completely sealed. I asked how much it would cost and they thought about 145 dollars so i said screw it, ill figure it out myself. I want to turbo in the next few weeks so do you think replacing the fuel pump with an aftermarket one will take care of this or is it the floatation device or something else? Thanks in advance.

The sending unit is completely different from you fuel pump. Find out who much a new sender will be than have at it.

best time so far 14.3 @ 101.1mph(no traction)

ive got an extra sending unit that i can sell to ya for a whole lot less than $145. all you have to do is take off the back seat cushion to get access to the top of the gas tank. you'll see two access panels (you want to focus on the one that is centered on the gas tank) take out the screws, and pop that panel off. underneath you will see the top of the sending unit which has a little wire connector going to it. (disconnect the battery to be safe) disconnect that connector and then work on taking the sending unit out itself. i believe the fasteners holding it on are either 8 or 10 mm. after you get those off try to clean off the top so when you take the sending unit out you wont get dust and junk inside the tank. the hardest part is maneuvering the thing out of the hole. good luck and let me know if you want that sending unit!
