just today my oil press light started to come on and off. its starts by fading slowly on about 2 min after i start car and drive . it will fade off for a few sec and then come back on. any idea what this can be? sensor plug is ok and i have oil in motor??

check if you got oil first. Does it stay on when you idle ? Mine used to do that same thing at idle because of a spun bearing, hence my user name now

no at idle its off. but when i drive it will fade on and off at random. i dont know. i recently switched oil to that quaker state Q synthetic stuff.. i dunno if that would have anything to do wit it but car drives fine and does have ful oil too. ?? i did accidentally let a good amount of water pour behind the motor today when it was raining but i doubt that could make it do what it is.. but now my reverse lights dont work either. ?? and the fuse is good.
also. the oil p sender is only supposed to have one wire right

install manual oil pressure gauge, verify oil pressure. as long as you have good oil pressure i would say the sending unit is bad. or you can take a gamble and replace the oil sending unit (17.00) and see if the oil light issue is solved.

+1, your oil pressure switch is bad. I had the same issue not too long ago.

Ya, someone correct me if im wrong but the oil sending unit is on the back of the engine and the connection may have got wet and then dried out. However, I suggest an oil pressure guage to everyone!!! I lost one engine that could have been saved if i had on.... Usually by the time the light comes on...its to late...
