#91599, "HELP!! SAFCII Install/Tuning 96 RS"

I just bought a Apexi SAFCII. I'm not sure if the install for the SAFCI will work for the 95-96 model or even the SAFCII. Does anyone know how to install an SAFCII on a 96 RS???? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

read the instructions
but Im sure the install is probably the same as here
http://www.avenger.kicks-ass.net/safc.htm

and tune it with a wideband o2 sensor only.. or else your just guessing and could do some damage.

Yeah I hope they are the same too. Sorry, not that involved yet. "Wideband 02 sensor"??? Are you just telling me to use my 02 sensor as I tune it. I hope it tells me in the instructions how to do that. LOL. Thank you for your help though.

The basic wiring is the same for what you have to tap on your car. There's the extra of being able to tap the knock sensor. I haven't used one to see how well it works with our sensor.

And yes a wideband is the way to go, dyno time if you can.

Okay, maybe I can do that today then. Can anyone help me on the tuning part?? I know once I get it running it asks me a bunch of questions about type of engine and stuff i think. But my car is a completly stock RS. What would be a safe setting for town driving Low/High, and racing or "beefed up" setting Low/High??? I'd appreciate it.

Once you put some bolt ons on your car, you'll notice the car runs a bit rich. It never hurts to fine tune the engine.

It seems the latest attitude is, if it's not turbo its a worthless mod...

I know what you mean and I do agree to some extent.

Here we have a guy who knows nothing about fuel maps or even what a wideband o2 sensor is and he's trying to hook up an SAFC.

Come on now. Give me a fucking break.

Why even buy a part that you don't even know what it actually does.

EDIT:o and Stealthfox....I don't say any of this to be rude at all.

and the fact that its going into a completely stock car thats not going to help too much until he starts modding it up.

No offense taken Blizare. But anyway this is just temporary. I do have a turbo kit for the car, but I also just bought a 95 GST so its not going to bad use. I was just going to put it on the RS temporarily. I'm sorry I don't know alot about these cars yet, but if I did I wouldn't ask for advice. LOL
