alright so today i went to the junk yard and yanked a new MAP sensor, came back and put it in, and then it still doesn't work, my temperature gauge is still planted when i turn it on, the CEL that i get is a code 14 (MAP sensor voltage too low) so i guess i'll try to check the connector, i can keep it running sometimes if i feather the gas, it's complete luck when it happens, its like it only fires sometimes, otherwise it will just turn on, turn off.

I looked for a prior post describing the problem but I didn't find one. Anyway, I know your setup is a standard stage V HRC kit. Does that mean HRC MAP clamp as well? Or are you using a Missing Link? Test the voltage coming from the sensor, make sure it's getting the 5V power that it's supposed to have. Check the harness to make sure there are no breaks between the sensor and the ECU. The temp gauge is the factory temp gauge? Check to see if the sensor is sending a signal.

Do you use the Missing Link. Let me tell you, i replaced like 10 things trying to fix my backfiring problem until i pulled that piece of trash ML out and now all my backfiring is GONE. Anywho, if you have the ML, pull it out and see what happens.

what's the HRC MAP clamp? i don't remember seeing one anywhere, got a pic?... and no im not running a ML because im a 95 and don't really need it, i checked the the sensor with a vantage diagnostic tool and it's getting the 5 volt reference, but it's sending no signal back, and thats at the connector. If there was a break in the wire somewhere wouldn't i still be getting voltage at the connector?

depends on which wire has the break in it. there are 3 wires connected to your map sensor.
-power
-sensor
-ground

if your power (+5v) and ground wires are still intact, but the signal wire is corroded, cut, melted, etc. then it wont send back the map signal.
if either of the power, or ground are cut then you logically shouldn't be getting any reading at all. I would trace back the wires from the map sensor to the ECU and make sure the are solid and working.
Try tapping into the ground wire about 4-5 inches from the sensor and running a new ground to the - battery terminal. It's a seriously inadequate ground wire they provide stock.

alright i'll give it a shot, but if the ground was bad, it shouldn't be getting the 5v reference either should it? which it is getting
