But Im having a brain fart. I didnt search, Im at the parent n laws house and dont want to make it look like Im bored. Anyways I think I fried a lifter. My Q is, do I have to loose the timing belt and cams to get one simple lifter off? Ive had the head off like 5 times, but like I said, brain fart.

How else do you plan to get it out? It's under the cams. Timing belt and cams gotta go. Why do you think you fried a lifter? Take the VC off and take a peak in there before you go ripping everything apart.

Yeah, really bad tap tap tap, in one specific area right under the VC. Its been tapping for a while, but not that loud. This weekend though I was tuning to get up too 15psi and when I finally got to 15psi and the AFR running great, the car was sounding like a damn diesel, lol. Oh well, gotta take the bad with the hella good, lol.

You don't have to loosen the cam cap bro. Just use two large flathead screwdrivers. One to push the rocker and one to slide it off the lifter.

Well I changed the lifters from the PT lifters back to my stockers and still the same damn ticking sound. Do you think it could one of the rocker bearings or maybe a spring. The sound is coming from right under the VC. Its a steady tick. Its the loudest under load at low rpm's and quiets down the higher the rpm's get.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, lol

Really sounds like an exhaust leak to me. And it makes sense that it would happen after turning up the boost. Its probably between your exhaust manifold and head.

Nah, I can put my ear on my VC before it gets too hot and hear it in there.
