#90890, "Thought i fixed my car, but more problems came just an hour later!"

I fixed the fact that my car would idle low and eneven and not rev past 4000rpm, the SAFC was wire wrong to the MAP. Gotta say being back in boost was a very nice feeling. After pushing the car pretty hard for about 1/2 an hour, it started smoking white like nuts, it had done it before occasionally but not this bad. Then about an hour later my beautiful just aquired 910 rpm idle crapped out, dropping to a 550 lumpy as hell idle.

The car also hesitates pretty hard at the moment, and it doesnt seem as fast as it used to be, i tend to lose power over 6000-6500 or so. It also backfires occasionally and bucks. Im not getting any trouble codes on the scanner except for MAP Circut High Output, but i have a brand new missing link.

I dont seem to be losing coolant or oil. However i think my coolant MAY have gotten darker in the overflow by a little.

I would really love to see this car run beautifully, i bought it in bad shape in hopes of making it back into what it was when it was first built.

Also some plastic sensor by my EGR popped off during driving it, and melted a little due to touching the manifold, however thats the only thing i know of thats wrong with the car.

I'd say pull the SAFC completely off and check the function of the MAP sensor.

Thats what I have done, i have it wired like it was stock without the SAFC inline. Im going to check MAP voltage today probably.

I have 400cc Accel injectors, so i guess i should lean out a little with the safc, i mean it does smoke black at times. But the whitish smoke is most consistant, but i dont seem to be losing any coolant. My turbo does have a small leak from the turbine but theres no way that much oil is getting out from there.

I dont really mind the smoke that much if its just from the turbo seal but what i do mind is the idle and hesitation, then again if it was too rich it would have hesitate too.

A thing i noticed recently is my apexi auto timer wont display the A/F ratio anymore and the O2 sensor voltage is very very low, but the wire is connected fine. Is the O2 probably shot then? Which O2 is white wire/black stripe?

if you were burning actual oil, like from the turbo seal, it would be blue'ish smoke, not white. i would personally keep the safc in since yuo need to lean out some with 400's. whats your idle pressure shit at? your front o2 sensor may have taken a dump on you, the white wire/black stripe is your front o2 sensor. if your voltage is low, its probably starting to kill out.

Okay, so im going to wire the MAP back into the SAFC but do it right this time (screwed up engine side and ecu side). Then lean the 400's out, im bad at telling the color of the smoke but i guess its sort of grayish white.

use the wire diagram from the home page mods section to make sure you wire the afc right this time or whatever.

Yeah of course, when i got it put in I had a shop do it and they fucked it up. If you are in the chicago area i recomend staying away from Garage Kwai, i should have taken it to Sound Preformance back then since they did the FMU and all the fuel lines (i wasnt as comfortable with wiring as i am now.)

However i believe i can get the job done, i have a friend who lives pretty close who is excelent at soldering and shrink wrapping wires, so one day we will just sit down and get it done.
