Anyone have a picture with measurements of the o-ring that goes in the bedplate? Maybe i can match one at Napa.

I doubt the dealer usually carries these but if anyone knows better i would love to hear it!

Thank you Mike Mayfield......This block was built with the utmost precision and quality that any lawnmower shop could do! Got any spare parts?

Use whatever fits the groove. Buy an o-ring mix'n'match box from the HELP section and go to town.. i think it's a regular 1" o-ring.

Yeah thats what I figured, just wanted tro make sure it wasnt a banjo type o-ring. I got lucky and the dealer had one in stock, i needed the front main oil seal and grabbed the oil pump seal as well.

well its not entirely poorly built, the attention to detail when sealing the motor up was poor. I checked the piston clearance but never remover the bedplate to reseal it. The guys at adfx used RTV to seal the bedplate and oil pump. LKeft out the o-ring in the bedplate. i kick myself in the ass for not resealing it, i looked at it for months and pondered the idea. What really pisses me off is that mayfield put 300 miles on it to break it in and new it was leaking oil. There is no way it just started leaking. The front oil pump seal was leaking as well. Never again will i buy a used motor to save a few bucks.

Its seems ok now.

That ain't nothing. If the engine is out of the car, it's maybe an hour to fix it. Still sucks, though. emoji I had that problem with my first rebuild. Never again will I forget that o-ring. emoji

The engine was already in the car running. its a real ass breaker to pull the motor for that reason. Then spin it upside down fully loaded with manifolds/turbo, ect on an engine stand.

I know what you mean. Did that on my very first ever rebuild down here. That leak is the death knell of the engine. I about took a sledge to her when I saw that leak. emoji Shit happens.
