How strong are our stock rods?

And if a connecting rod were to break, what would be some common causes? It's not because the rod itself was too weak is it?

High piston speed breaks rods.

I belive they can handle 200 - 300 whp.

from what i was told if you hydrolock you can break a rod too!

seeing that liquids are pretty much non compressible...yeah that would do that... what kind of rod can withstand smacking a wall at several miles per hour?

believe it or not though my car drank a pint of water yesturday and the 7 year old stock rods i have in my car with stood the test, probably just lucky but just thought id mention this as to the strength of our rods

these rods are good for stock engine running n/a with not going above 9k rpms. powder forged isnt that stong.

I heard our rods are good up to 400HP, I heard our rods are stronger than the SRT4 engines rods. Its funny how our weaknesses are the other engines strengths and vice versa O_o

changed mine out for Eagles though emoji

I think I saw somewhere that they will fail around 14 psi of boost. I ran over 11-13 psi daily for over a year on stock rods and forged pistons.
