Alright Ive been sitting at my computer all afternoon reading and reading through topics and posts about turboing and rebuilding. Now I am posting because I want peoples opinions on what I should do. Heres the story.
I ran a compression test yesterday and got 210,190,190,185-190ish
Pretty good numbers, I didnt expect them to be that good. My engine is running great and only has 78,000 on it. I really want to turbo and have been wanting to turbo for the last 3 years since I have had the car. Ive assembled with a local shop a custom kit for a pretty good price.
t3/t04e stage 3 turbo 38mm wastegate Steel tubular manifold oil lines w/ sandwitch adapter bov-110Db stage 2 downpipe - 2.5''inch stainless steal flanges fmic probably 25X6 or so intercooler piping walbro 255l pump blox 12:1 fmu blox missing link GReddy Profec B Spec II Boost Controller Autometer Ultra Lite 30psi Boost/Vac Gauge
total : $3,010
The entire kit is custom and the shop Im getting it from does great great work. The manifold is stainless steel and is hand made by a guy that lives out in Chicago. He does very good work because alot of my friends I cruise with have manifolds made by him and theyre great.
The turbo is custom made off the old turbonetics design and is a very good turbo choice IMO.
Anyways, Im very scared to blow the engine because this is my only car right now. Id be screwed in alot of ways if I blew the engine.
My plan the entire time was to turbo it and then rebuild the engine shortly after I turbo'd probably around winter. Well I have the money finally saved up to turbo it and I would only be running 5-7PSI at most. I would not push it past 7PSI and I will be intercooled.
Do you think its safe with the setup above to turbo for a while then do a bottom end rebuild? I just want opinions befor I sink 3k into a turbo setup haha
Thanks guys I appreciate any advice you can give me.

Go for it! It's not like everytime you drive the car it'll be boosting! I'll drive mine to work and I maybe boost 5-6 psi for about 15 seconds while on my way home just for giggles!
It took me a while to order mine(worried) even after I rebuilt it and I wished I had done it sooner and spent all my money on go fast parts instead of show(rice) car parts!!!!!
Star Stage II,Vecco SS heatshield,OBX intake,OBX fuelrail,MSD coil & wires,Epac voltage sys.,Hyperground sys.,Eagle rods,JE pistons,ARP studs,meling oil pump(Ceramic coated DP,wastegate tube,Manifold & turbo housing)

if it makes you feel any better i got pretty crappy numbers when i had a compression test done (i think they woulda been higher if the key was held a little longer) anyways i'm puttin a star kit on this weekend hopefully and i just figure i'll go easy on it till i can rebuild and if it blows i'll just have to find another engine cheap and fast or borrow some cash for a rebuild and POS daily driver
I contributed to the Wiki! EVO IX - just a really expensive boost gauge and a K&N air filter 96 Eclipse RS -awaiting registration and inspection 95 Eclipse GS - parts car Mods/Profile - http://www.2gnt.com/index.php?d=cs82685

If i was you though i would drop the FMU and get some real fuel management.. The ENTIRE kit comes down to tuning. The better the parts the more ability to fine tune and the less likely chance to blow something up. Get a vortech-SFMU at least.
‹totaleklipse97› so what benefits do i get from being ur e-boyfriend ‹Jen› uh... the honor? ‹totaleklipse97› somehow i guess i got that title now ‹Jen› somehow.....

Its definetly not fellas haha, dont worry Ive already seen it and one of my friends has been running the same turbo on his integra for the last 4 months, he runs it 12 PSI for his daily driver and has gotten it up to 18 for a while I believe.
