#90482, "Wierd ongoing overheating - tried the obvious"
well long story short I got a BC2 front bumper about 2 months ago. It overheated the same day so I thought it was because of the smaller front hole. Anyway I was proved wrong when I put my stock one on. IT overheated still around 3/4 on the guage. Heres what I did Flushed coolant New thermostat New cap
Still overheated and a week after the guage showed it was normal. For about 3 weeks my car was running fine. Then one day it overheated. There sensor was changed and the fans are going on. Absolutely no pattern to it. Everytime I though I found a pattern it was proved wrong. Anyway today I was driving with the guage 3/4 at cruse and maxed at idle. LAst night I could hear the coolant boiling after comming home. The waterpump is not making noise and compression test shows 220 across. I know I could compress the coolant system but what else can I test for in a garage. Grrr points to someone that can help

There are 2 sensors one for the guage and one for the ECU. Do you know which one you changed? Was it the one wire one? Also if the sensors are ruled out then the rad. might be your next step. They do go bad sometimes. You could replace it or have it pressure and flow tested before you replace...

yea both sensors were changed. i flushed my crap out yesterday and its been good ever since. Im running pure water now too. I have a feeling it will only last a week because it just starts up again

yea i got the same problem again. im getting sick of this. tonight it overheated on everything but cruising. Would I hurt anything taking the thermostat all the way out ? What else can i do to this stupid thing
