#89736, "SAFC question. Airflow??"

OK, So, I have an SAFC hooked up. I am N/A (...FOR NOW!). Anyway. I had researched this unit all over this site and thought I had all the info. I am left with one question. Should I be getting an airflow reading??? I have it hooked up properly and have double checked it. I am getting mixture readings, throttle readings, and pressure readings. They seem accurate. However when I select airflow (under channel 1, 2 or 3) and display the data, I get no reading?? Weird.??? But then again, I can't reference anywhere on this site if we should get an airflow reading or what it should be. (Oh, and I'm not using Karman.) Help, thanks.

Also- Just to double check. According to my Vac gauge I am idling around 16 inches. With 6 in 6 out I idled at around -700 mmhg on the SAFC. WEIRD. I tried 5 in 5 out and I now idle at -430, which according to my math makes sense. Ath idle with 5 in 5 out the SAFC reads .13, that is pretty darn close to zero and is acceptable right???

Thanks, I can't wait to start tuning the bitch! The SAFC is damn straight forward, I dig it!

Oh, and if it makes a difference (And I don't think it does) I have the SAFC with the four arrow keys, not the SAFC2 with the dial. Thanks

I would think you would not have an airflow reading since the 420a doesn't have a mass airflow senser.

What you read is probably wrong. You can't get an accurate airflow reading unless you have your SAFC connected to a Mass Airflow Sensor like the 4G63.

-430 mmHg sounds about right for an idle pressure with stock cams. -700 mmHg is a LOT of vacuum pressure.
