#89460, "car wont start any help please"

ok here's the scenario:
Cars been driving fine, went out for a quick drive driving it hard and then just went to meet a friend of mine, park the car for a while running to cool it off. I back the car a little to see any oil marks, just a little but one huge bolt was laying there. Found out it was my pulley bolt. Drove home the car slowly. Parked it. Woke up the next morning to go to work. Car wont start. I put the pulley bolt back on took it down from the ramp. It started. Turn it off to clean up. Came back won't start. Thought it might be a starter problem, change new starter still wont start. It's like this, no click or anything just put the key in put it to ignition everything lights up, but no cranking. So am predicting it's electrical problem. Any help please need to get it going.

Is the alternator belt on? If you turn on your headlights are they bright? How many volts does the battery have? Can u jump start the car? The alternator prob wasnt running long enough to charge your battery. Jump start your car and leave the jumper cables connected for 10 minutes. Then drive the car for 20 minutes or so to charge the battery really good. The battery may just not have enough power to start the car one its own. Also check and make sure the starter wires are all connected right and no wires are disconnected on or around the starter.

well i did all that. Voltage read 11.8 when I try jumping it it reads to 12.5 still wont even turn or crank and all. just dead silent. Everythiing is there. The fuel loads like usual. You think if could be the ecu? Really want to find other problems before getting to the ecu. Kinda expensive. Anyone with an ecu for a automatic 1998 id # 05269834AJ. Need asap around the new england area.

check your battery terminals for corrosion (i usually just hit them with a hammer, lol). my old eclipse would do this intermitantly..the terminals needed replacing and the starter wasnt getting enough juice to engage.

:shhh: i do cocaine :/shhh:

just replace a new terminal still have nothing. I dont think it's the coil pack because it's not even turning at all. So it has to do with engaging the starter. Is there a fuse for a starter. I kinda aiming for the ECU. I can get the ECU for $100 here. Dont want to waste on that if it's not that.

replace ecu still didn't started. Went back and played with the starter. Yep the starter. The wire is not kicking in. Does anyone know where the little wires go to. Want to trace it, seems that is causing the starter not to kick in. Do we have a relay or fuse for the starter? Anyways I fix the problem by making a direct connnect for the starter with a starter button. You think a 8 gauge wire is good enough or should I go bigger or smaller. Anyways thanks to all you guys for advice.

make sure the starter isnt shot. take it off and run it down to autozone and they will test it. my pathfinder did that. and when you tapped on it, it would sometimes work, other times not.
