#89391, "Starting/Idle problems (i searched)" May-13-05 05:59 PM by kain_99gs
Well just recently I started to have a problem with starting my car while it was warm. I would get in, Crank it, nothing. After 2-3 more attempts at cranking she would fire right up. My next door neighbor (works as a tech at a dodge dealership) came outside one of the times I was trying to start her (before she started) and pulled off the schrader cap. I got in, started her right up. He said the pressure at first was kinda bad but then it was fine. Later we did a pressure test on the lines and they were fine (49psi, then 48 psi after 10 minutes). I went ahead and replaced my fuel filter for the heck of it.
Well, I am still having the problem but now I am also getting a weird idle. Before this started happening my idle was always like 800rpms. Now it drops all the way to 600rpms then back up to 900. I replaced the spark plug wires and looked at my plugs. My plugs looked good and I didn't see any oil in the holes. My coolant is also really green not yellowish (i guess if you have a bad headgasket it turns the anti-freeze yellowish). I am just wondering what else I should check into. I thought that if it was the fuel pump it would just crap out at once. What are other options/etc? Thanks for the help
edit: I also checked/cleaned my IAC about a year ago so I believe that it is fine. Also, I have a cold air intake (not sure if a dirty filter would cause this, I have washed it, but not with the k&n recharger stuff)
