I say phfft to that. If its kept cool and free of oil and grime(as that builds heat) it will live to see a very long life. I'm a believe'r I've used msd brand my whole driving life and never ever had a issue, unless it was a wiring problem on my part. Ive used just about every different part# they have. Well not really but a whole bunch of different models for sure from mild to wild.

i have all the actual instructions for the 8912 and the 6212 (programmable dis-2), but it doesn't show how to wire the tach adapter to the 6212 and the 6212 has different wiring than the old 6211...
MSD sight doesn't have anything more to offer than what i already have.
guess i will have to sit and stare at it for while to figure it out!

But your signal wire from the ecu hasn't changed, and you know what the coil wires are. How is the newer model dis 2 hooked up?
