#88904, "Engine bogs bad under 3K when slamming on the gas pedal"

I finally started actually driving the eclipse again and i noticed that the car is bogging down bad when I'd give it a lot of gas from a standstill. It does the same thing when driving along if the rpms are under 3K. If I let of the gas, the engine performs as it should, but if i slam on it again it bogs real bad (even backfired once). Anyone know what might cause this?

Also, my Jeep TB makes this annoying whistling sound at lower rpms. Could this be related?

Anyone know anyone who can help me tune this in the Pittsburgh area (Greensburg)?

That whistling sound is a vacuum leak probably. If your leaking a good amount of vac, it will not get up and go as well.

Definetly sounds like a vacuum leak, how's the idle?

his idle could still be okay because the MAP will diagnose that there is a leak and will add more fuel to even out the idle.

yeah.. the idle is fine.. i'll check for vacuum leaks and while I'm at it probablly change the spark plugs & maybe wires... see if that makes a difference.

I always have a CEL for the evap system... could that have anything to do with it? I tried everything I can think of to get rid of that CEL, but it's been haunting me for years now and it sucks when I try to get this thing inspected.

Anyone know anyone who can help me tune this in the Pittsburgh area (Greensburg)?

Same exact problem with mine 6 months ago. Plugs and wires should solve it. If not Coil, then Fuel filter.

Same with me, turned out it was a bag spark plug. Just replaced all the plugs and replaced the wires too and it has'nt happened again.

i dont think the thing would idle fine if there was a vac leak. ive got a vac leak thats quite tempermental, and when it acts up i see the vac drop, the car starts stumbling and bumbling, and sometimes it dies.

at idle, my boost gauge reads 8psi of vac, that about 10-13psi of vac im leaking and my idle is steady as hell with 440 injectors and no tuning yet
