I need to shim my cam but don't know what size to get.

Stock BC 1.175 in. / 1.179 ex.
Finished BC 1.040 in. / 1.065 ex.

If anybody could help let me know
webcams told me 50,000 shims????

50 thousandths. .050inches That is a tough size to find. You need to find 16 shims that are the EXACT same thickness. They should be between .500 - .650 inches (1/2 inch but not 3/4 inch across. The thickness needs to be measured with a micrometer that measures to .001 inches.

Some guys have found washers at the automotive store that were the right size. I couldn't find any that work. I went to the Local V8 store and was able to find a set of lifter shims made by crane cams for the OLDS 16 valve DOHC. For $13 I got 16 .030 shims and 16 .060 shims. I have the .030 in the car right now but if web cams says that .050 will work than the .060 should completely quiet my lifters. They were REALLY loud with no shims and still have some noise with .030s

Run a search on shimming the lifters because there are 2 links you need to find that I posted. I did all this about 1 month ago so it's all on this temp forum. The links were to the ASOG board walkthru on changing the rockers and lifters. It has pics and everything. The shims drop down in the lifter holes and the lifter goes back in on top of it. With the cams on the car I was able to put in ALL 16 lifters in 1 hour. Also if you search back around the same time, the part number for the lifter shims made by crane is on the board too.

What kind of grind did you get. Is it a high compression drag grind, A street grind, Nos grind?

I don't know??? I got these used but webcams told me the the max lift was 400 deg. on the intake and 350 deg. on the exhaust. I have know idea what stage they are or if you can use nitrous with them but i'm getting the venom basic nitrous.
