spilling about a quart a week since the last overhaul. Crankscraper is in, I did it VERY fucking carefully, cleaned and degreased the fuck out of everything and now that sonofabitch is somehow leaking like mad. Anybody have any tips on redoing it?? I dont want to have to turn the crank and I just want to slap that fucker on. ALSO should I get a new oil pan gasket or will the one with 2500 miles on it be ok? Questions: 1. should i get the paint off the crankscraper before instal? 2. what is the factory torque specs for the oil pan bolts? 3. any tips on a QUICKER CS install

There was paint on it??? Why would you paint a crankscraper? You're never going to see it unless your under that car.

This is something you don't want to rush. Sure you can be quick about it, but can you do it correctly quickly? Take your time with this. Did you place a gasket between the CS and block? and THEN the CS and oilpan?? If not, theres your problem. I used orange RTV silicon for my gaskets and theres barely a slight drip if any leaking. Lay an even bead of RTV along the CS so it mates to the block and seals. Take your time and be steady so it sits in place correctly. You may need to hold it there for a few minutes to get it to stay. Give it atleast 10 minutes to set up before you apply the next gasket for the oilpan to CS. Follow the same steps above if you use RTV for a CS to oilpan gasket. You should be good by then. Oh and don't overtorque your oilpan bolts, or you may break the seal on that gasket between the CS and block as well as the CS to oilpan.

Got mine from Ishihara-Johnson, lookup that or IJ crankscrapers. I got it in a group-buy quite awhile back.

I got an IJ crankscraper for $40 shipped. It comes painted or powder coated black. I thought that was pretty stupid and when I was cleaning it with brake cleaner the black coating was coming off but i stopped halfway , I think I'll take it all offt his time.
