Ok guys Im 420a Turbo charged....I run 10w-30/40 pending on season. I talked to a guy that I work with who is all that ASE certified and stuff pretty sharp guy. I use Castrol GTX oil. He Said to use 20w-50 for turbocharged engines..(High mileage Protectant. 127k on car)
My question is...is this reliable and safe to go from regular to high mileage and from 10-30 to 20w-50?

I have always used Mobil-1 10-30 in the winter and Mobil-1 15-50 in the spring/summer. The engine loves that thick syrup!

20w-50 maybe a little on the too thick side even in the summer I like mobil 1 10w-30 all year! Interesting fact is that on hondas if you use anything higher then 10w-30 the lifters pump up too much and on the exhaust stroke the exhaust valve stays open just a little longer than usual and it burns the valve after awhile. see atleast 2 to 3 a year. Some TSB I read.
