My engine just gave up on me recently (120,000 miles). I took it to my uncle to get it repaired and he said that I needed a new engine. He quoted me at 1200 bucks for a complete USED engine. Is this to much?

Is it rebuilt or just pulled out of a 90k car? And I'll buy your old engine for $400 shipped.

Did you say this is a family member telling you all this? Does $1200 include labor to remove and install the new engine?

Trying to rip you off imo.

Unless of course labour is included. 4-500 for removal and installation is pretty good.

dude 1200 for a 90k mile motor isn't that bad if thats all for the full swap but you might as well just have your motor rebuilt and spend somewhere around the same you don't know what problems your gonna have with a 90k motor prob gonna give you a major headache in the long run either have some just rebuild your motor and save in the long run or get stuck on the side of the highway like I did so many times you can't count on a swap. plus on it's basically having a brand new motor that you can turbo out easily. cause 0 miles. on the motor.
