#86657, "Rad Leak"

been having a few minor problems with the car since I got it. It doesn't run great when cruising at a constant speed. Drive along at constant rpm in any gear and it will start bucking and the rpm's drop significantly. ex; if cruising at 3k rpm in 4th, rpm hand will suddenly drop to 2k and car will buck and knock.

i was consistantly blaming it on the IAC...took off the IAC last night and cleaned it up...still having the same problem.

Originally, i thought the headgasket was getting bad, however, put the car in the garage this morning and HG is fine, but rad has a small leak. Would low coolant cause running problems like this even if the car is not overheating?

thanks guys

No, low coolant wouldn't do that... you'd overheat before anything... at worst, you'd blow the headgasket if you still drove it with no coolant in it... but its not a coolant thing...

But you check the plug wires and distributor and all that?

that would have been a good answer, except for the distributor part, seeing as how our cars dont have distributors, that'd be kinda hard. We have DIS ignition, thats what that coil pack is on top of the valve cover. on another note, you might want to go check your CEL again, because you probably have added codes
