#86198, "Massive Oil Leak!!! Need Help"

Hey Guys,
I was at the track today and everything seemed normal. Suddenly I realized that there was a HUGE puddle of oil under the car. I looked under the car and I saw a couple of drops coming out from the crank pulley, oil filer and oil drain plug area. I tighened the filter, tightened the drain plug and tightened a couple of oil pan screws that were a little bit loose. I cleaned the whole area with carburator cleaner and I started the car. At first it didn't leak but as soon as I revved the engine, oil started dripping again. I think it might be the front crank oil seal. Does anybody else know what the problem might be? lease let me know. Thanks.

I've seen the front main fail (actually, it wasn't even installed, but we didn't notice - dumb, I know) and it's similar to those symptoms. You've got some of the toughest trouble shooting I can think of ahead of you to track this bastard down. I'd say it's the front main. If you're getting close to tBelt time, might as well have at it now. You're going to have to pull it to get to both those areas in any usefulness.

I was looking today during the day and I saw that the leak was indeed coming from the back side of the head gasket. The thing is that I had my head cut 40mm and my idiot mechanic didnt put extra washers on the head bolts. Now Im going to have to redo everything I payed that moron to do. So im gonna buy some ARP head bolts and changing the head gasket again. Im also going to go ahead and put some stronger aftermarket engine mounts. Should I change the front crank seal while Im at it? Is it a lot more work?
