How accurate would it be to mount the egt probe in the hole in the head for the EGR tube? I was going to tap and plug it but I am thinking about mounting my egt probe in there. Any thoughts?

I think you need to get a meter that reads over 1600^ Let us know. After looking at the head I'm working on, I don't see why it wouldn't work. As for what readings you'll see, I don't know.

Does that hole have access to all the exhaust ports or only #4?

It only goes into #4. However, The rule of thumb is to place it infront of #4 because that gets the hottest for some reason. I just think it would be a cleaner install.

the only thing i would wonder about is if it would get enough flow past it. since in the exhaust manifold the exhaust is carried directly over the sensor head, whereas the egr valve hole is offset out of the direct path of the exhaust.

Well I got ti mounted and 1/4 of an inch of the probe is in the exhaust flow. SO we will see how it works. If not I iwll jus tplug it up and put it in the manafold again.

Let us know dude. I'm finishing a head now and would like to try this if it works out for you. That way I can use my currect location for the wideband probe.
