OK, I've been searching like crazy trying to figure out what the hell is going on. I'm throwing code P1391 for Intermittent loss of Camshaft Position Sensor or Crankshaft Position Sensor. It jerks like crazy above 5500rpm and that's when the CEL came on last night. Is there anyway to check which sensor is bad or am I stuck buying both? The car starts and runs fine as long as it stays under 5500rpm and about 65% throttle, there just feels like there's a slight miss, any more than that and it's like I'm hitting a rev limiter.

You do not have the tools to test either of them. One sensor can make the other look bad. Thats just the way it is. unless you have a snap on vantage you are stuck buying new sensors.

since its an intermittent loss, check the wiring...have you spliced a new cam or crank sensor in before? its likely uour wires are melted or something and grounding out or touching.

either that or just replace the sensors and im sure youll be fine

edit: 96 2gnt's require both signals from the cam/crank sensors in order to start. you have a 95? to test if its the crank sensor disconnect it and see if it starts. and vise versa to test the cam sensor. im pretty sure 95 ecu's will still start the car with loss from either or, but not both. try it and see what happens.

Alright, I'll give that a shot. I've never changed either of them or messed with the wiring for them. Also, do you guys trust the sensors from autozone or should I get them from satan?

Edit: Just went outside and when I unplugged the cam sensor the car did not start but immediately threw a CEL. Plugged it back in and the car started fine so I cleared the CEL. Unplugged the crank sensor and the car did not start but it didn't throw a CEL either. Plugged it back in and the car started right up. This is really pissing me off!!!

yea so either its your crank sensor, or 95's are like 96's and they cant lose connection to one or the other.

just get one from the chrysler dealership, you'll be aiight

I'll try chrysler on monday eventhough mitsu seemed really cheap for the crank sensor for $43.83

one thing though dude...

95 has a different style plug than the sensor mitsu or chrysler will probably sell you. they do sell the new harness adapter thing though so you might want to make sure. ive gone through that before and it sucks to get it in and see the plug wont go in, lol...major pwnage
