#85409, "Sputter, low VAC and low RPM at idle after turbo setup." Jan-30-05 04:24 PM by brokenrodguy
I just bolted on my turbo and 2 days later my car sputters and im running 8 pounds of VAC. Rpm as dropped under 500. It seems like it wants to just give up. Shortly after I noticed I got a CEL which I will read at autozone tomorrow. The car hasnt seen WOT with boost yet. The guage is showing no boost now which could be just the guage. I checked all vac lines. it seems like its either a pad spark plug and I blew my motor. Fule filter has been changed a few months ago. A/F guage shows lean over 4k so I let off the boost. Any input ?

Doublecheck all your vac lines, again. If something is blown, i.e. piston or ringlands, you'll probably see oil and or smoke from the engine. Also, maybe do a compression test to eliminate the later.

ok I scanned my codes and im running too lean. I hope this didnt affect the motor too much yet but im doing a comp test in a few hours. I want to make sure my FMU is hook up right cause I only saw instructions for the super. Middle port back to take and side one from stock FMU. does that sounds right ? I also thought it could be a blown o2. I already swapped out my sensor after install because my gasket makers distroyed it. Thanks to a fellow 2g member I got hooked up with my new one. After I hooked it up and boosted more I smelled the gaskets and it couldve blown another one. Would think cause low idle ? My A/F ratio guage lights up half way so its like 7 leds are on. Anyone got any ideas ?

it ended up being the o2 sensor again. It was dumping fuel to cause it to sputter. All is well down and im running 18-20 psi vac. The guage i got with the kit was messed up. Anyway thanks to extreme97nt for being a good guy and hooking me up once more. Its nice to know that there help and info when you need it so I would like to thank the whole 2g community.
