#85206, "Temperature Problems"

First off, I have a 95 Talon ESi with about 126k km.
My temperature gauge stopped working this morning when I started the car and hasn't started working all day. I've been doing a lot of searching and reading and from what I can figure out, the car has two temp sensors....one for the dash and one for the ECU. I would have assumed that the one for the dash died, but the gas has been brutal on gas all day. However, I think my fan is still cutting in. Is the switch for the fan separate from the two temp sensors?

Also, possible that the two sensors died the one time? How else would you explain gauge showing 0 and being really hard on gas as well?

Thanks a million for any info...this is confusing me emoji

Nick

ya if your gas mileage is shit then its prob the one for the ecu, its only like 20-30 at the local parts store.BTW, if you replace any of the sensors in the thermostat housing use teflon tape on the threads.
