Does anyone know the difference between the AFX tb bored to 55mm vs the company that ports/polishes and powdercoats your tb? The one through ebay is cheaper, but I just wanted to make sure.

The difference is that your sig pic is way to fucking big. emoji

As long as the place is reputable, I would think you're okay, but you never know with eGay.

yea, as long as thier reputable and can make a correctly fitting TB plate (i.e. no leaks) then you should be okay. but if the plate isn't just right... can you get decent customer support form egay seller...? food for thought... you get what you pay for.

I have the concept illusions bored tb. They just remove the hump in the middle of the tb to make it a straight through 52mm instead of 52-49-52. I felt some very good gains for the money spent. The boring was done nicely but the powdercoat was shit man I think they used a $30 powdercoating kit or something. Ebay one is well worth $40 if you can deal with the down time. I was down about 2 weeks but i live in cali and concept illusions is in penn.

in my experience i would just go with the MP 60mm TB(or the Jeep TB if you want to save money). i got an ARD 55mm, then afterwards got a ported intake mani which is like 59mm... now i want to get a 60mm TB so the money spent on the 55mm was a waste.

I guess it just depends on your future plans, however you can probably expect better throttle response and maybe a little gain no matter which way you go.

Modern performance has the same throttle body, just different color and for the same price. I have had MP 60mm and it is a very nice throttle body, so i am not familiar with the zzapp one. I would also like to know about who Zapp motorsports is.

i have the ported and powdercoated one from ebay
the porting is great
mirror finish with no machine marks or toolings anywhere

here is a link to where i posted a pic of the powdercoating
it isnt the greatest in the world
but the entire thing from start to getting it back to me was 30 bucks

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160753&highlight=throttle+body

the dark splotches are bad lighting
not the powdercoating

Yes im glad you posted that. i think i will be buying it today... one question, and i will sound like a BANME!, but it says it fits the "420a 4 cyl cars with manual transmissions". is that just for us or is it also for the 420a neons? if its for them too, is the neon 420a tb the same as ours? or is this a direct fit for us? thanks

sorry for sounding retarded, i usually know my stuff pretty good.

buy a new gasket from the store, and reuse the two stock bolts that are on there now. i emailed them and they said it is a direct bolt on for the eclipse...

well i dont think the new gasket from a store is gonna be 60mm. i was just asking because modern performance specifically says and shows in the picture that it comes with a new gasket and new bolts.

I bought the modern performance tb about 2 months ago, it comes with a 60mm gasket and 2 new bolts, i don't think the stock bolts would work. It was a perfect fit, sensors and everything. I also have a stock tb for sale if you wanna port w/o downtime, make me an offer
