Here is a quick question. Has anybody tried to swap out their stock radiator with the Griffin Aluminum Radiator? Griffin sent me the radiator for my car and it is too thick. The reason being is it is hitting the frame where the frame meets the radiator support. Therefore, the radiater can not go in flush, hence not allowing the hood to close. I have taken the radiator out and put the stock one in. I am thinking maybe they sent me the radiator for the Turbo Eclipse instead. This happen to anyone else that tried to swap with a Griffin Radiator?

That could be it. I never even thought about that. Stupid me or is that stupid them. I dunno, one of the two or possibly both. OH well, I will probably just sell the radiator on Ebay to someone with a 2.4L and just get another radiator from Koyo or something. But seriously thanks for the answer to the question that has been bothering me all night.

All 2G radiators are dimensionally the same. The 4G63 radiator has the inlet and outlet in a different place, but that is the only difference. RoadRace Engineering used to modify 2G-T fluidyne radiators for 2GNTs, before Fluidyne started making one for the application. I think that the problem lies elsewhere.

Well, I appreciate the input. I don't know much else to say except that everything lines up the way it is supposed to, the only problem is that the core is too thick and there is now way to clear the frame support. So I guess I will get rid of the Griffin and get a Koyo or another manufacturer. Thanks for the info though.

I have the griffin radiator in my 98 and it fit perfectly... ???
Make sure you check the location of the welded tabs on the bottom-side of the radiator core to see how well the align in the core support. This is often a problem with aftermarket radiators and will cause it to sit too high or off center.
