#84260, "ECU for 95,96...or stand alone system"

i have looked quite a bit for this topic, but i have not seen it yet. anyways, i know howell has 97 ECUs, but i have heard that was only for the 1997 eclipse NT, I personally have a 1996 eclipse NT. I was wondering if this would work, if not, are there any good stand alone systems for an eclipse NT?

The AFX ECU will not work in your car.

A standalone is a standalone is a standalone is a standalone...

Standalones tend to be rather generic in application - with the right equipment added (compatible sensors, trigger wheel, compatible IAC) any of the major standalones (Haltech, DFI, TEC, FAST) can be made to work with your 2GNT. Its not easy, but possible, sure.

why do you think you need a stand alone anyway, what would you do with it...?

USED TO HAVE...Everything you wish you had, and then some...

A MegaSquirt with ignition control can allow you to do everything to your engine that the AFX unit does and... Hey...! What am I going to do with my AFX? emoji

If you have a 95 non-turbo, and you're staying non-turbo, then the only useful piece of electronics I can think of would be an Apexi SAFC. It will do almost the same thing the AFX ECU does (lean out the fuel, advance the timing). But unless you have a dyno, it'll probably do more harm than good.

Not worth the $300+ for a new ecu, Safc, nor a standalone if you're non-turbo IMO. Not unless you have some crazy 10:1+ engine rebuild.
