#84024, "NO MORE EGR/ no-cat CEL!"

WAHOO! It's kinda scary not seeing a CEL anymore. My dash is all dark and gloomy now...

I don't like how ugly the big fat resister is in the open. I was thinking about building a project box and putting the resister in that. I'd then mount the box somewere hidden and just run wires to the ECU.

Anyone interested in a resister box to remove all EGR and no cat CEL? All you would have to do is mount the box and run the wires. I'd include wire splices so all you do is crimp the wires. What do you think?

This will not kill the no flow code for the EGR though right?

Sounds good in theory. What specific CEL codes does it eliminate?

Pictures?

I'd be down, possibly.

wow, I'm amazed at the response to this!

I compleatly removed my EGR valve and sensor. I had a thin piece of stainless steel laser cut to the size of the EGR gasket. The peice on the intake manifold is a cheap piece of metal I cut to fit. I installed the proper sized resistor and I've been driving the car all day today without a single code!

I'll build a No-CEL box and see how much it costs and how long it takes me to build it. So you guys are interested? If I had to guess it would probably cost something in the 20-30 dollar shipped range.

I'm not positive if this would work on EVERY 2gnt/Neon. Mine is a 96 ATX.

Well it may kill the no egr installed code, but that can be done by just leaving the sauscer connected electricly (in the 95's at least). But I doubt this will kill the low flow code for the EGR. The ECU periodicly tests for the EGR by opening it up, and when it does that test you are going to get a low flow code for the EGR. It may take it more than a day to happen but it will come....

This is true. I was running the big resistor mod, and soon received the low/no flow code. 98 GS manual here..., so your year might be lucky. and now I run a modified EGR valve that flows clean air. No more codes.

alright...I'll look into making 2 solutions then

96-97 black box mod for rear O2 and EGR
98+ would get a machined adapter and filter
I could see if I can have more laser cut stainless steel block offs made

What do you guys think?
