this might sound like a stupid question but, where do you pour it into the transmission and what type do you use.

ok when u pop the hood its on your right hand side ... if you look down under your intake or stock air box you will see a metallic looking cone on the bottom right of the engine ..thats the tranny ..there should be a long black tube coming out ..( or if you are me a shiny new black tube ..lol ) with a cap on it that says trans fluid ..thats where you put it ... use a funnel though its much easier and neater ... type of trans fuild doesnt really matter ... all that matters is that its there keeping the tranny cool and lubed but try and buy a name brand

Do your tranny a favor and only use the Mitsu. Diamond ATF. Some people recomend redline or BG syncroshift for the auto's but many people have seen increased wear from them.

BG SYncroshift in an auto??????? NO, no, no! it's a manual transmission lubricant. More the consistancy of motor oil than trans fluid.

Hmm.... read this post and ran out and looked... can't find black thing that says transmission fluid on it.... hmm? *shrugs*

As far as transmission fluid goes... is it strictly Mopar shit or can we use BG syncroshift just the same?

you can use bg synchro but it seems alot of people come back with blown up trannies from it. the mopar fluid is supposed to be real good and our trannies were made for it so i'd go with that.

for standard shift use their directions^^^. for automatic, you fill it through your dipstick tube (CAUTION! know what you are doing here. overfilling can be VERY bad!)

My opinions on fluids are... you can't go wrong with the dealers fluids (they are meant to go in your trans).
BG synchroshift is used in many standard transmissions with good results (they can really help on our 4G63 brothers trans's) the friction modifiers really help the synchros line up. as far as it hurting the trans.. I think that there are more opinions on this than there is proof (but who wants to be a guinea pig?). BG is a quality company though, with top of the line products. IMHO

BTW a lot of 1G guys also use GM synchromesh with good results. I have used it in a 1g myself, but can't tell you if it lasted. the car has been sold.
