My motor needs to be taken apart and get the rings fixed and make sure everything else is fine. A guy rebuilt my car and everything is fucked up and it doesnt run right now. I bought the rings and i am getting $1600 to install that since they have to pull the motor. I am tired of dealing with this sorry mechanics down here in Hinesville, GA. I will take the car wherever as long as i can trust them and get a warranty so if something happens. I got Howell's bottom end kit installed already but nothing runs right. Any good performance shops?

When I was at Ft. Stewart, I always took my car to Universal Auto in Hinesville. They never did me wrong. Of course that was 4 years ago. I'm sure they are still owned and ran by the same people. Try giving them a call and see if they'll re-ring your pistons for you.

Or, you can have them find you a good used engine and put that in for you. I had that done after spinning a bearing on my first engine. Used engine w/warranty plus labor totalled just a hair over $2000.00.

I will not let universal mess with my car, i heard to much stuff about them. They have had a few of my friends car, good people because i know some, but just dont trust enough to mess with my car. I found someone in NY that will be building me a new block so i am gonna order that next week, $2400 is the price. Thanks for the suggestions, i appreciate them.

I guess Universal isn't the shop it used to be when I went to them from 1997-2000. Wish I could be of more help. That's the only place I can think of.

NAPA in Statesboro does good machine work in case you ever need something done (however they do not assemble blocks.)
