make sure the connection to it is good , make sure the 12v pole is covered and not arching to the block when cranking. also make sure the ground cable is connected to the tranny and upper bolt to the starter

good luck supaman

don't let it frustrate you. easier said than done, but it helps to have a clear mind when troubleshooting.

Are your cables in good repair?

No it is not a pepboys starter. The starter is fine, nothing is wrong with it. But sometimes it will start, other times it will no start. Cable's are fine but the pos is a little loose, I cant get it as tight as i want to. All i know i am looking for a new car today, cause i am tired of my car breaking down all the time.

its not broken man, you just need to learn how to install a starter the right way (no offense) get a 8mm x 1.25 pitch nut and tighten the 12v cable DOWN (disconnect your battery first) otherwise you're obviously going to be having stupid problems like this.

My sisters eclipse would not start(no lights came on usually a bad ground) try cleaning the negative cable ...then take a wire brush and scratch both the battery post and connector. it started right up after that

Have you tried the starter relay, inside the car behind the radio??? There's two relays there, should be the one on the left hand side closest to the driver.
