#8349, "custom cat-back question"

Ok, i can get a 3" custom cat-back with aluminized piping, and mandrell bends for 110 bucks. If i go to 3" after the cat, will i loose any low end power? I will be going stage 1 or 2 in the spring or summer, so what should i do? I am thinking since its only from the cat back, i still have some back pressure to keep some low end power. What do you guys think??? I will be gettin a universal muffler also.

Yeah low end should definately suffer NA, but when you go turbo it'll let the turbo breath nicely... I would wait until you are closer to the turbo install to do the 3" exhaust.

What would be that guy's normal price for the exact same thing do you know?? I live pretty close to you and desperately need a 3" cat-back. If I could get it anywhere near that price, I'm sold. btw, when you get yer kit, if you want some help on the install, let me know.

Hey thanks matt95, any help on dat install would be sweeeett,i'm pretty good mechanically, but an extra mind and body is the next best thing! I was gonna email ya, but my comp has a virus in it now which goes out with my emails, but i'm gettin dat fixed tomorrow(DOH!). Yeah i got the price from a Lentz muffler shop here, the normal price, well don't know for sure, prob about 185 maybe? Anyway, i could prob still get u a hook up a lil better though if you wanna make the hour and a half drive(MSU kicks ass!! party college aww yeah). I think i might wait to do the exaust for now, but i def want a muffler, and i might put a glasspack inplace of the fact resonater for some good sound. lata man!..

Yea man, I'll definately make the trip if you can get me hooked up at that price. If not, thats cool, I'd understand, but let me know how much and if the price is right, I'll be there for sure. The turbo install really isnt too bad, just time consuming. I spent the majority of the time making hardware runs and crap like that, but it took me 2 days to get er done. I'd be glad to give you a hand if im not crazy busy at the time. Its nice to see that Michigan does have a few on the board... I was starting to think it was for California ppl only hehe.
