Has anybody had this problem? I have had a DIS2 now for about 3 years. Well since this summer my car has been shutting off without notice. Came to find out that when I put the bypass plug in the DIS, the car would run fine. So I sent it to MSD and they said it checked out fine, I got it back and hooked it up. Everything was fine till I started boosting the car, then it started dying again, so I think it has to do with the turbo setup. I bypass the the DIS again just for the hell of it and what do ya know. So again, has any of you with a DIS2 ran into this problem? I swear Im just gonna sell the thing.

i had the DIS-2 about 2 1/2 years ago, and my car was having similar sypmtoms. i would one day drive normally, then the next day it just won't start. then a lot of a sudden it comes back then shuts down after a few minutes, i was going nuts trying to figure it out, till the day came when my car was not starting anymore. so it was obvious that it was ignition related. i go check out the DIS-2 and the red light wasn't coming on. so once i connected it back to stock, it ran perfect again. i guess after many years of use they get burned out. i found out the majority of the reasons these go down is because the underhood temperatures makes it too hot to run so it shortens the life of it. it's better when they're mounted inside the car.

So I guess if its already doing it, its too late to move it, huh?

I doubt it....move it anyways and see what happens.....make sure all you connects are good. I mounted mine where the stock air box was .....it keeps it cooler on the back side I heard they don't last long under the hood so I took measures to help it last longer. All that air blowing on the backside helps.I have another set up for it if your interested and tons of pics on the install.

If I remember etx had problems with his DIS-2 also... and at least one blown motor has been blamed on a DIS-2.

I don't trust the things.
Plus you won't need it soon anyway.
