I put my egr back on for the first time since I had the turbo on. I have 2 days to pass emissions and I keep getting codes. The codes I'm getting are:
System to rich
Cylinder 1 misfire
Cylinder 2 misfire
Random/multiple cylinder misfire.

All I did was put the egr pipe and sensor back on. Everything else is just how it's been the rest of the time with no problems.

I was idleing @ 32psi. and now I'm down to 22psi. Everytime I erase the code and lower my fuel pressure, I get the code about every 20 miles or so. I can't hear or feel any difference in the car either. What the fuck is going on?

Hrrrrm, perhaps your o2 sensor is acting up? Do you have an A/F gauge or a Multimeter to test it?

Yes my AF guages are hooked up and reading normal. Do most of you have your egr hooked up with your turbo on? I don't see how the fuck putting a pipe on can fuck like it did. I guess this is what I get for waiting till the last minute before inspection. At least I can drive it for one more day.

Install the solenoid and stuff but leave it blocked off on the intake manifold. I doubt they will know enough to check it. or add some liquid steel to the port in the manifold to block it off and hook the pipe up.

=)

That will still give me a CEL, and I still won't be able to pass.

don't know how they do emission test but can you pull the CEL bulb, then they won't see you have codes? I have no idea how they do this so i'm kinda talking from my ass.

yup yup you sure are... emoji~

Emissions actually do a generi obd II code pull. CEl will fail you rightaway in some states but they will see what dcodes are stored, how long ago the ECu was reset, and if the readiness monitors have had time to complete themselves.

go to radio shack. buy this resistor.
10watt 100ohm
its not one of those tiny resistors, this things huge like a french fry. take the 2 wires coming off of the resistor, and insert them in the egr harness (to ecu). now completely cover the resistor/plug in electrical tape, no soldering, this his is how i got rid of my egr code.

he doesnt have an egr code..... so the resistor wont work.

Sounds to me like your plugs/wires/coilpack (or the wiring going to them might be screwed), you sure you didnt mess up any wires putting the pipe back on, I bet you did......

what size injectors are you running....why are you at such a low fuel pressure? What color are the spark plugs, how old are the plug wires ect? As stated above check all wiring...installing the EGR and your problem may just be coincidence.

I've gone over all the wiring. I even unhooked everything around the areas I was working, and plugged them back up. The plugs look fine, maybe a little on the rich side and the plug wires are just a couple mounths old. Mag. 8mm.

I'm running 22psi now, but was running 32. I was trying to lean it out because of the rich code. I don't wanna go under 22, but even there I'm still getting the too rich code. I'm also getting cylinder 2&3 misfire now instead of 1&4.

If I remove my egr system again and put the resistor in, I know it will take away the light, but will the obd2 scan at the emissions place be able to pick up on it? If not I'll do that.

Today is the last day I can drive it legally, so I'm up for almost anything now. Thanx for all the suggestions. I would still like to hear more.

wel the key to the answer may be in the injector size you are running...what size. fuel pressure doesnt tell me much unless you tell me the size of injectors.

ok 30lb injectors with 32psi is correct. by lowering the pressure you are trying to lean thinkgs out when somethig else is wrong. Either there si an injector stuck open or leaking or fuel mixture is not fully burning.

Do this to test a leaky injector:
need fuel pressure gauge
jumper wire to jumper fuel pump relay
long pair of needlenose pliers

now this does depend on how you have your fuel system set up but i will explain on a factory and we can discuss from there.

install pressure gauge on fuel rail test port.
install jumper at fuel pump relayto energize the fuel pump. note the fuel pressure will raise to whatever you have it set at.
take the pliers and pinch off the fuel supply hose and after that pull the jumper at the fuel relay. watch the pressure gauge. if it moves at all (drops) you have a leaking injector.

now if you used the test port to connect to a aftermarket regulator, you will need to pinch off the return line and fuel supply line at the same time to hold pressure inside the fuel rail.or you can disconnect the regulator, install the gauge and momentarily jump the fuel relay till you see 50psi at the gauge and pinch off the supply line as you pull the jumper. make sure you are fully pinchign off the supply line. easier to pinch a rubber line not a braided stainless.

My EGR valve seemed to be faulty, and ended up being the cause of my multiple cylinder misfire, and hesitation. I took the EGR valve off and the car runs like butter.

Dont know about what could be causing your rich situation.
