#82894, "Header/exhaust gasket question"

Hi I'm putting on the DC 4-2-1 Ceramic header and was wondering if i need to put on a new exhaust gasket or just to use the same one. I found a replacement one here: http://www.autopartsworld.com/new/product_availability.asp?product_number=H4000-40179&web_brand_id=bosal&web_name_id=exhaust-flange-gasket&year=1998&web_make_id=mitsubishi&web_model_id=eclipse-2-0-dohc&x=92&y=6
do u think i should get it?

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

That is not the gasket you will need. The link you posted is for the downpipe to Cat. connection. You will need the gasket for the block.

#12010 is the gasket you are looking for bro. NAPA, and other parts stores will have it.

As for replacing it, you do not have to, but after everything is torqued down and you feel/hear an exhaust leak under the hood you will know where it is coming from. Again, it is not guranteed that it will elak, but the gasket is not that expensive either.

I thought most header came with that gasket, 12010. Atleast my obx came with it.

As for funkpig, a lot of exhaust gaskets get rusted/worn out over time. It may not be a bad idea to get new gaskets.
