#82839, "Weird jerking above 5000rpm"

Tonight was the first time that I have driven the eclipse in about a week and a half. I was driving home from my parents house and when I went to pass a car, I hit 5000rpm and the car started jerking real fast in between 5000-5500rpm and it wouldn't rev any higher. This happens no matter what gear I'm in. The car jerks and kind of makes a popping noise but there isn't any smoke and I don't have a CEL. From idle all the way up to 5000rpm the car runs perfect. I changed the plugs the last time I drove it. What should I look for?

Could it possibly be a fuel filter problem?

Ignition, or timing maybe?
After plugs, try wires, coil pack.

I wish you a smooth break-in and happy driving.

I've checked plugs, wires and MAP sensor. I'm going to check the coil pack next. This damn thing is just pissing me off.

Looks like my problem was a bad spark plug.
