well its kinda dumb but i have a home made turbo kit but i havent got anything for my fuel system yet so i am not putting the turbo on yet but . i have the inter cooler mounted already and i had the idea to run one side to my throttle body and put a filter on the other side? i tried it and it seems ok but could this hurt anything or restrict air too much?? just a way to use it till i put the turbo on for now,.. 97 RS

I don't see a downside. Maybe hydro lock if you ever into a puddle and the filter is at the end of the ic... The only real downside I can for see is people posting in this thread and yelling at you for false advertisement (I give them.... 10 mins tops and they will converge).

itll be a restriction, and probably heat up the air a bit but it shouldnt kill your car or anything

what i want to know is is there any upside? its not like it will be cooling the air, since the air hitting the fins is the same air, therefore same temp, as the air being sucked in through the intercooler.

Doubt it. Or if there are any, it would be so minute that it would justify the cost of and intercooler, piping, clamps, etc...

he would probably be heating it up, the IC would get heatsoaked from underhood air (because while it would cool compressed air, it would probably heat up ambient air)
