Started up good, no problems
No CELS, oil light hasnt come on, and the temp is perfect.
Now here is whats bothering me...
The motor starts right up, but then while idle... the motor shakes back and forth from time to time. not a very bad shake, just a little movement. And the engine doesnt sound as good as it did before i broke the engine.
It doesnt sound really bad, but its not perfect.
Another question.. how much fluid aprox. does the automatic tranny hold?
Also...I blocked off the EGR and I have also made a catch can. When can I expect the CEL to come on for the EGR? Have any of you gotten a CELs for having a catch can?

Expect an EGR flow code to pop up after driving on the freeway, or after you've driven around for a few days.
Why would you get a CEL for a catchcan??

Have you done any serious mods to the engine? I put in bigger cams (crower 2's) along with a forged bottom end and I noticed my engine "shakes" a little more. I'd check your motor mounts for insurance of an easy fix. Other than that there are 2 small black brackets under your motor that bolt up near the oilpan and tranny. I don't know exactly what they are called though, maybe someone can shed some more light.

The car is stock except fot a intake.
Well, I figured out what the problem was..
The idle was set too low. 900rpms
SO I grabbed my socket and messed with the throttle cable adjuster on the intake manifold and brought it up to 1,400rpms and it idles fine now. No more shaking during idle. (only when I shut it off)
Do you think I set the idle too high? It seems fine to me... the exhuast sounds much better than before I adjusted the idle.
I also noticed that in the Haynes Manual.. it says that if the engine idles kinda rough, that its a fualty EGR valve. Does anybody else here with a EGR block-off plate have problems with idle also?
BTW: I finnaly got a CEL. I'll swing by Autozone sometime and check it out. Hopefully its for the EGR block-off I installed.

I have block off plates at the TB and on the side of the head where the EGR solenoid WAS (I removed it completely). My idle is rough, but I'm sure it has a lot more to do with the bigger cams. Didn't take too long for that CEL to pop up for the EGR right? Theres a trick to bypassing that CEL with a resistor, I forgot exactly, but I think its a 1.2k 10w resistor. Try searching or ask SILVERNT, hes one of the few that has been able to accomplish this.
