#82101, "Dyno question. Is this guy for real??"

So, I wanna base line my N/A eclipse with my current mods as boost is in my future this spring (FINALLY). So, I checked out this shop in Portland Maine (http://www.f1dyno.com/). Now keep in mind, I am a BANME! to dynos. The shop is sweet as hell and real clean/professional. Anyway, the kid I talked to said he couldn't give me any wideband readings cause I have a cat. I thought they plugged into our port under the dash for this??? He showed me this long ass anal probe they stick in your tailpipe for wideband readings. Should Ilook for another shop that reads wideband differently? Or is this the only way? To get proper readings I guess I could take out my cat and put in a straight pipe but I just invested in a nice random technology cat, so this is not an option. TIA

A cat will throw off the readings on a tailpipe wideband O2 sensor. Invest in a test pipe you can swap in.

*edit*

If it's mostly stock, NA, wideband isn't going to help you anyway. Save the money and just do 3 baseline pulls.

Will do. Crrently N/A with an ARD 57mm TB, ARD P&P upper and lower mani, Iceman CAI. Brospeed header, Random Technology cat, Thermal cat back, Magnecore wires, BKR5E-11 plugs, MSD coil pack, and JW ground wire kit. Can't wait for the boost though. I am going with the HRC kit!

Get any pulls yet? I'm planning on going to a local dyno day in November. I've got a few new wrinkles in my plan. I just need to get my crankscraper on. emoji
