I've read up on the OBX and understand that it's probably not any better than stock. Here's my question, since I'll have to buy a stock intake ($40 I'm guessing), then have it p&p and port/gasket matched ($125 I'm guessing) for a total of about $165; or, just buy the OBX on eBay, which is selling for around $175 or so?

What do you guys think?

hmmmn good point.

Well the OBX is made with steel piping which is already smooth so a polish would not be required and porting really couldnt be done. Gasket matching would still help so i would do that. The OBX is probably lighter not like that makes much of a difference though. Looks depend of if you like the flashy intake, you could always powdercoat it in the future. Does the OBX have the provisions for a Map sensor? I cant remember if it did or not.

Personally i hate the OBX intake...it looks gay. Square is not a very ergonomic shape for airflow IMO. Does it make a difference i dont know, i would expect a tiny bit might even be an insignificant difference.

all of those holes are for brake booster/IAT ETC

You will always beable to fit the OEM Manifold better than an OBX manifold right? I mean the OBX wont line up as perfect as OEM, it just seems like it would be worth it just to get the OEM ported and u dont have to do all that tapping on the OEM one...

I completely disagree ...

First off, let me start by adding that I have an OBX intake manny.

-YES, there is a spot for the MAP sensor on the side of the intake manifold, but since its huge, it was kinda hard to fit the missing link in there too, but it fits and has tiny clearance from the throttle cable box on the firewall, but it fits.

-Fitment was actually not an issue, it bolted right up and fit perfect. The stock fuel rail bolts to bolt onto the manifold where not exact, but I am using an OBX fuel rail too and that fit on it perfect as well.

-Cougar, keep in mind that there are no ports for the PCV valve or EGR valve like the stock manny has. I just bought an EGR block off kit off of ebay and removed the EGR completely. As for the PCV, get a 90 degree elbow fitting and put in the back of the intake manny, then run the hose from the valve cover, to the pcv, then to the back of the intake manifold, and you will be fine.

-As for power increases, not sure. Since I am turbo'd, its hard to tell, lol. I just like the look of it really.
