Alright since almost everyone has some kind of intake, I wanted to get one too. I know theres the do-it-yourself intake on the mods page, but I want one that looks all flashy. Which is a good one to get that does not cost too much? I was lookin at the iceman but that seems really expensive and K&N doesnt make one for a 97 Eclipse GS?? They have one for the 99 NT, but not for earlier models? Are the engines different or something?

95-99 are the same. You can get one for like $40 on eBay but it might not last long. Or you can spend a lot now and get an aem, injen, etc. I recommend one of thse since they also come with better filters. Don't get hks or greddy, overhyped and overpriced imo.
The cold air models give a little more power, but are more expensive, get dirtier, and they can get water in the motor if you go over a puddle

If you want an expensive intake system for a good price, make your own... Customize your engine and make it origional, I'm tired of seeing peoples engines and seeing the same ol shit. Just order you some 3'' mandrel bends, some 3'' straight pipe, some silicone connectors and hose clamps, and a filter with a 3'' inlet. Then cut your pipes and bends to fit the way you want, one piece at a time, then tack weld it into place and remove the piping and finish the welds.... and use silicone connectors and clamps to connect your welded pieces... you can powdercoat all your piping for cheap, or sand, primer, paint, and clearcoat if you cant afford powdercoating... You can run it down for cold air or wherever you want to, thats the fun about it, your the designer, you decide where you think it fits best... just my 2cents.

arent they basically all the same? just some 3in piping with a filter? is one really different from the other aside from maybe the material that was used in the piping? just curious, cus they seem to be the same.

well i have a ICE man CIA.. and i like it.. but have nothing to compare it to.. AEM is good (powder coated metal.. in certain colors) Injen comes in chrome so if you want that shinny look.. and ice man is powder coated plastic.. inside is all smoothhh unlike the outside.. plastic doesnt conduct heat mines never hot sometimes a lil warm...
dont be scared of everyone saying it will take in too much water.. that lil amount of water that a CIA might suck in will not lock ur engine.. unless its submerged in water i think ull be safe.. i have driven through countless tropical storms down here in fl and its been fine.. i do know of one guy who has locked up.. but he had a honda.. hahah so u know..
well you can make your own.. but he said he wanted it flashy.. i dont think mines to flashy.. it does look nice though.

I made a PVC one and it bent from the engine heat and then the filter fell off and was run over so I bought one on ebay for $99. Powdercoated Blue with a cheap filter.

I have a Iceman Cai but it really does not matter I guess, I saw some cheap no name intakes on Ebay that blow out cold air also so I guess they do the same damn thing just cheaper priced.
