i have the main solenoid which is black and inside rubber with a 2 wire plug. but also there is another thing near it with hoses and a 3 wire plug on it?? i put a 30 ohm resistor on the black solenoid to try to stop the code 31 but it still comes back do i have to replace both items with one? what is that other thing? 97 Rs

It's a vacuum switching valve (vsv). It's clogged up and is probably a good idea to replace both. And stop running the cheap shit emoji

i dont want the evap system on my car anyway. but why do 3 wires go to it? what are they + - and what? can i bypass that with a resistor too ?

Yea egr systems suck, but without them you'll get a code. They're not all bad though. It does keep the combustion chamber a little cooler.

does the EGR system have anything to do with the evap code? or no? cause my EGR is not connected currently

No. wideclipse is confusing what you are saying. EGR is NOT EVAP. they are 2 different beasts. The EGR system is relatively simple and contained. The evap system is not. There are parts of it behind the front bumper passenger side, and behind the gas tank. It will always throw codes.
