Well, basically I spun a rod bearing and took the crank to the machine shop...

But I couldnt take the oil pump off myself, so I left it on to let the machine shop take it off for me. Well, the machine shop calls me and says that he cannot get the oil pump off the crankshaft without damaging the oil pump housing. He said he has tried pullies, he tried a 3-jaw puller, he has even tried heating it up and then trying to pull it off with a puller, but it wont budge.

Now I have no chioce but to let him destory my oil pump in order to grind the crankshaft. And I have to fork up $130.00 for a new oil pump.

Has anybody else had this problem?

A Melling is $80 from Howell IIRC. You shouldn't reuse the oilpump anyway, for the price, its just good insurance to replace it.

The issue with the crank sprocket is that the puller bolts are so damn small.. M6x1.0 .. its easy to yank them out.

It's going to have to come off one way or another, you can't reassemble the motor with that sprocket on there.

IIRC, that's Howell's asking price.

your goign to have to get the sprocket off some time anyways. if they need to . tell them to cut the sprocket near the key, an they should eb able to pull it off. then you can pull off the oil pump. and dino is right, oil pump is best to be new.
