#81122, "Engine vibration at low RPM's only!!!??? clutch?? mounts??"
I just swapped a motor in a 95 Eclipse for a local dealer and the car has a very bad vibration at low rpms..under 1200. It shakes the car BAD. The motor seems to run really good and I dropped the whole front subframe when I did the engine swap with a lift (MUCH easier than through the top!). Is it possible the clutch could be the problem? It has a CenterForce DF clutch setup and it is modular. The motor mounts all seem to be in good shape but car shakes like CRAZY! Thanks...

It was a complete motor from a wrecked car....
tighten your motor mounts
it could be more than just the motor mounts.
is your tranny making any noise? is the motor making any noise? if the crank of the motor or if the tranny's input shafts are out of balance or if there are even teeth missing can cause incorrect rotation causing a vibration.
this just happened to me. it was mearing a clutch bolt that was loose and causing the osolation of the entire trans to be thrown off, which caused my vibration.

Thats kind of what it seems like to me almsot but it is odd that it goes away totally after 1100 or rpm's. It has a modular style clutch on it also. The motor had just been rebuilt by the shops old tech and the guy did a VERY bad job. Half the stuff he stuck different bolts in because he lost the right ones. The oil pan on the old motor was crushed so bad you could see the outline of the oil pump pickup The original motor was rebuilt and the guy "tech" put the camshaft gears on backwards and bent a bunch of valves i nthe motor. Brilliant guy obviously. So they needed the motor changed so a friend and I swapped it ll out in about 12 hours. The motor looks like it is jumping all over the place. The motor mount near the timing cover looks like it is moving alot when it is idling. I was wondering if maybe the clutch was junk, maybe the weights are not moving like they are supposed to causing a out of balance issue. Thanks for the replies.
