Hey yesterday I took off my TB to clean the sensors and the Tb itself and i took a look into the intake manifold and it was caked with junk. I know this cant be that good and i tried to clean as much as I could. Is there a good way to go about cleaning this?? If so how and how hard is it to do?? Thanks

take it all off and take all of your sensors and vaccum ports out and brake clean the crap out of it. that's what i did when i switched to my jeep tb. worked well.

that would be carbon, oil, and other crap courtesy of your EGR system. take the whole thing off, get about 2 cans of carb cleaner...and go to work on it. i got both halvs of mine cleaned, blocked off the EGR, and its been clean as a whistle every since

EGR pipe? Thats the pipe behind the intake manni next to the TB position sensor right? What does it do and what will happen if I block it off. (my car is completely stock except for an intake)
My intake manni and TB was dirty as hell also.... but I cleaned it when I pulled the engine out.

Nothing will happen if you block it off, I did it, it runs fine. Another thing you might want to look into is checking and if needing, replace your PCV. If thats bad, and stuck open you will get alot of that crap in there aswell. Mine was bad, I ended up having enough crap in there to scrape with a butter knife.

haha yeah, something will happen if you block off your EGR....your intake temps will drop by 20-30 degrees because your not introducing hot exhaust gasses into your intake tract
as far as harm, there will be no harm done...but it will throw a CEL code, and wont pass emissions..but if you dont have to worry about it, then its no biggie

Take a weekend to take off your intake manifold. Then run to your nearest autoparts store and get one or two cans of the foam gunk cleaner. Spray it all in there, follow instructions. Works wonders on the outside too. Try not to go w/ brake cleaners, too much mess and stinks like hell. Done! Have fun. Take Care.
Oh and take off the EGR, seriously.
When is the money spending going to stop on this fucking car?!
