#79487, "Cheap HP for N/T's"

Hi,
I have been contacted by Lee Walker, designs and builds all custom performance parts from body kits to 4 cylinder dual exhaust systems. He asked me if i would like to be a vender for his SZ-5 E-Turbo system, and i told him i might know a few people that may be interested. Basically, it has the same idea as a turbo except its not exhaust driven, it is driven by 19 volts of power and a switch from your battery. It is not a bilge pump, or an electric intake fan, it is a patented electric turbo that has been distributed for over 4 years now and is closing in on its 5th generation design. It created 2psi in the intake and pushes air over 370mph creating a ram air effect at idle. A guy here in CO put one on his dodge avenger and it dynod at 37HP and he even runs a BOV with it. These retail for $350 plus shipping.... if i can find 20 people interested i can get them for $250 plus shipping. I expect the flaming to begin becaus thats what this site is all about, but i am in no way advertising a replacement for turbos. I used to own a star stage II, but it als cost me $3,000. This is a solution for people who cannot afford a hahn or star kit. If i were to describe the gain, i would say it feels like a 35 shot of NOS at flick of a switch. If anyone knows someone that would be interested in these(will work with any car except Ford, Mazda, and Audi) tell them to email me. Like i said, if i can get 20 orders i can get them for $250, which is $100 under retail.

Here are some dyno sheets:

Status: Finally up and running!

just out of curiosity... why is it so funny? i just dont understand why you guys think its a joke... There are 100 to 150 units sold every week for over 4 years and have not had 1 complaint. Like i said, its in no way a replacement for a real exhaust turbo but it is an option for those who cant afford it.

Some people spend up to $250 and a fucking CAI that will give you maybe 10hp at the most.... i dont see you laughing at that.

Anyways, ive tried and tested and its true. Its a simple theory, It creates increased air velocity and provides a ram air affect at lower speeds. Same idea as a CAI or regular ram air intake, except instead of it just allowing it to breath, its helping to breat at 2psi.

Nothing special, but it is affordable.

i just thought i could help out some of the younger 2GNT members such as myself, but i guess i get laughed at and thats what i get.

How did that cavalier gain 60hp from something like this? Show me a video of a car on the dyno with this thing and then have the guy walk up to the screen and show me figures and I might believe it.

I wouldn't buy one anyway. it's a stupid idea, and it doesn't work. So what if it creates 2psi at idle, that doesn't help peak power. The motor will injest more air at wide open throttle than any little fan can push out, i don't care how many volts it runs off of. The ONLY system i would believe ANY gains for was the Knight system that used a whole effin trunkful of batteries to power one electric supercharger, and even then it was only good for a few seconds. However, the weight added would easily offset any real gains.

Simply put, if the system works, we'd either see them produiced by OEMs, or we'd see massive support in the aftermarket, or both. Neither currently exist. Show me one car that runs faster than stock with one of these systems. Your dynos are BS.

This topic has been beaten to death. it was a stupid idea when it first came up, and it's stupid now. it's not a matter of support, it's a matter of logic or falling for the bullshit hype these fly-by-night vendors will feed you.

thats kind of like swearing off Darwinism just because we have christianity... the electric turbocharger is part of the new scientific revolution!!

Then again its only been a few years since this retardedness was thought up... technology hasnt quite had time to catch up, and we'll never break the basic laws of physics

I laugh at that. I would never pay that much when I can get one for $30 that does the same thing. At most there might be a 1whp difference between the lowest and highest priced. Your product is completely different. If I want a big obstruction in my intake that won't show me any performance gains...I can do it without paying someone $350. And as far as the comment about someone running one of these hunks of crap with a blow off valve...was it an electric blof off valve too, because those are tEh keWleSt!!!

Lets just say this... I'm over 100whp and soon to cross 200whp. Thanx 2GNT! Now if I could only learn to prove it.

i bought my cold air intake for $30 off ebay and i think it workes just as good as any other. anyways, you cant fake a dyno sheet and there they are. you can see them at www.cargodz.com or www.streefreakzperformance.com. they have pictures, dynos, how it works, stories, etc.. The guy that had that cavelier had 2 eturbos on it, he ran a fuckin 19second 1/4 mile (i feel bad for anyone who owns one), and with the eturbos he ran 17.6. And they are not an obstruction at all, they have 0 resistance. Each eturbo is manufactured in seven different states, they are not easy to make or cheap knockoffs like you see on ebay. These have been on the do it yourself network and on the speed channel twice. There has also been a tent for them at the NOPI nationals.

BUT............. Just forget it im sorry i brought it up.

I hope you are not trying to say that there is 0 electrical resistance as in ohms.. that would not be possible for what you are saying. that would be in essence.... a wire or superconductor.

Oh, shit - I've got a Ford, Mazda, AND an Audi. I was hoping I'd be able to get one... or three. But, since I've got all the wrong cars for a universal system, I guess I'll just have to get that other electronic turbo I've been wanting to get.

Oh, and by the way, his patent doesn't apply to many important facts that you've mentioned in this thread:

1- 19 volt system - his patent claims "the use of a 12 or 24 volt motor"
2- his patent claims "The Low RPM Turbo is also universal, which means that it will mount to any car or truck."

So what he's trying to sell you is some cheap imitation of his patented turbo system - watch out, it's a scam!
