Does anybody know the stock setting for the IAC? Meaning if I turned it all the way out or all the way in, how many turns the opposite direction would it take get the stock setting?

The reason Im asking is Im running really rich. I had AutoZone check the ECU and it came up with(P1296- Control Fuel Air Metering). I do know my IAC is turned all the way in, dont ask. But that was the only code I threw off.

Can someone please help me out?!?!?!?
DJ

You IAC has nothing to do with your car running rich. P1296 is a MAP sensor code.

So then, where do I go from here? Why am I idling so bad?

I'm still going with timing. That will cause your vacuum to be low, and throw your MAP sensor off.

Lets just say this... I'm over 100whp and soon to cross 200whp. Thanx 2GNT! Now if I could only learn to prove it.

Lets review...

a couple posts down you are asking about how to install an SAFC...

a couple posts down you are asking where to find the power wire for the SAFC...

the SAFC directly affects the MAP sensor readings to the ECU...

you are now getting a MAP sensor code...

Your car now runs like crap...

Do you see any possible correlation here???

Are you sure you hooked it up right and set the settings right?

If you dont know how to hook it or even find a +12V then most likely 99% you hooked it up wrong or got the settings wrong.

Naw, I ve had the SAFC hooked up for almost a year now, never had that prob. This just started when I fired the motor up from a ring job.
The only reason I was asking about the 12v is because of my battery dying, but thats fixed now.

Will somebody please tell me how far that plunger is supposed to be out when its closed! Its screwed all the way in right now and I know thats wrong!!!!!!!!!

Your IAC is not the problem. That is what we're telling you. Your question begs an answer that has no relation to the resolution of your problem which is why it hasn't been answered (answer - immaterial. The ECU will control the IAC no matter where the needle is when it starts - it resets the IAC every startup).

You need to check your MAP sensor voltage on your AFC. You need to make sure your AFC is still set to PRESSURE (not KARMEN, not HOTWIRE), 4 cyl, arrow UP. You are throwing a code that directly relates to your air meter, which in this case is the MAP sensor and the MAP sensor alone.
