#79355, "Changing to synthetic"

Im making the change to synthetic oil within my next oil change.

My question is this:

Should I go with Mobil1 Synthetic or should I switch to Royal Purple?

IMO, I dont think RP is worth the money. On a newer car, maybe. From a couple of the guys in our car crew, I hear that RP is better off on new cars. As opposed to an older car (98 GS) with high mileage (118K)

Ive done a lot of maintenance work on my car, and I dont want to be dropping money into something that costs more over something that works just as well but is a bit easier on the wallet.

build what you want.

i've used mobil 1 5w-30 for about 3 years now, and am very happy, i have used royal purple and can't really tell any difference in engine idle, or power gains... i also use 1 qt lucas synthetic oil stabilizer.
