#79334, "Performance ignition ?'s"

I have iridium plugs (1 range hotter), MSD coil pack, and accel wires. I heard that with upgrade ignition b/c of the hotter spark that I didn't need a range hotter. Also, I heard that you can gap the plugs farther b/c it is better for a n/a motor.

Any comments?

What upgraded ignition are you running? It should recommend the gap according to its specs.

Technically what you have is not really a performance ignition. You have an upgraded ignition system, but to truly be a performance ignition you need to install the MSD ignition or something, not just the coil pack. I wouldn't change the gap on the spark plug - just my feeling on that. Going one range hotter, or colder, should be fine.

Yeah with that set up I'd run stock gap.

One of my friends was behind me that when I got on it, and shifted gears that black smoke was coming out.

Also, doesn't the MSD coil pack put out more voltage?
